L.Luthier Classical Guitar Festival will be held at the end of year 2019, Aiming at promoting the development of Guitar Art and Classical Music in Malaysia, and to provide an unmissable platform for guitar lovers to share and expose themselves.

Grigory Novikov (Russia)
Born in Kirov, Russia in 1979, Professor Vera Tataurova taught him. From 1997 to 2006, he studied at Kirov and Novgorod Conservatories of Music, prior to which he studied in a senior professor class directed by Vladimir Mityakov of Novgorod Conservatory of Music. Since 2011, he has been the director of Kirov Matyaev International Guitar Music Festival in Russia.
Since 2010, Gregory has signed formal contracts with Malaysia’s Rutja guitar and French guitar string company Savarez. In 2013, the Asia-Pacific Brand Fund awarded the Grigori Novikov Personal Brand Award.

YS Tang (Malaysia)
Tang started learning the classical guitar at the age of 16. He enrolled in the Music Department of Malaysian Institute of Art (MIA) majored in the classical guitar under the tutelage of Ms. Margaret Ng. Without completing his studies from MIA, Tang furthered his studies at Del Mar College and Texas A&M University Corpus Christi with scholarship, under the guidance of professor Philip Hii and Dr. Wann-Dar Tan. Subsequently, Tang completed his master’s degree in music performance with scholarship at Texas Tech University School of Music where he was also awarded teaching assistantship to Dr. James Bogle.
Ken Ny (Malaysia)
Chuah Ken Ny is a local classical guitarist from Taiping. In 1988. He received his formal classical guitar training with a local teacher, Alfred Phoon, at the age of seventeen.
In the year 2008, he joined the University College Sedaya International (UCSI) to start his BA in Music course and graduated his music degree from Middlesex University (London) in 2013. Subsequently he completed his master of music in University of Queensland.
While he was in London, he took guitar classes with Timothy Walker and Benjamin Dywer. Besides his passion on the guitar, he is an active member in choir too. He participated in the Venizia in Musica 2011 in Venice, Italy, with the Klang Chamber Choir, and won two gold medals in that event.
Adwin Lai (Malaysia)
The founder of L.Luthier, has a unique perception towards music. “Never Perfect, Always Better”, and this has been the team’s guiding principle for 10 years, firm in their belief that there is no perfection, only continuous improvement.
Adwin enjoys the way music moves him. At the age of 15, he picked up the guitar, and started composing at the age of 17. He took a major in guitar during college, and minored in vocal studies. At 26 years old, he launched a single called “Sky”, and spent his lifetime pursuing “better” in his obsession with music.

As a part of the Classical Guitar festival, the competition with an aim to provide a stage and an unmissable opportunities to all the youngsters and youth classical guitar lover.

Each participant will received a certificate (1st – 3rd runner up will be stated) and review by judges.
